Dr Joshua Portnoy

is a graduate of McGill University’s 5 year combined Undergraduate and Medical School in Montreal, Canada. He subsequently completed a 3 year Internship and Residency Program at McGill University’s Jewish General Hospital where he specialized in Internal Medicine. In 1998, Dr. Portnoy moved to Colorado to pursue a career in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. He completed a 3 year Subspecialty Fellowship Program in Pulmonary and Critical Care at the University of Colorado and National Jewish Medical and Research Center. Dr. Portnoy Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine. After Fellowship, Dr. Portnoy completed a Post Doctoral Fellowship at the National Jewish Medical and Research Center in the Interstitial Lung Disease Program . Under the mentorship of the Mason Lab at National Jewish, he trained in Molecular Biology working on the role of the Alveolar type II cell in Lung Inflammation and Pulmonary Fibrosis. Dr. Portnoy subsequently joined the Faculty of National Jewish Hospital and worked as a staff physician in the ILD (Interstitial Lung Disease) Division seeing patients from around the country while continuing his Research in Pulmonary Fibrosis. After spending close to 10 years at National Jewish, Dr. Portnoy transitioned to co-found a Pulmonary Critical Care Group and has provided Pulmonary and ICU medical care in Colorado for over 20 years. In 2024, Dr. Portnoy founded CCPS Medicine and currently serves as the Pulmonary Clinic Director. He also serves as the Internal Medicine Director at Encompass Rehabilitation Hospital.
